a cincinnati/northern kentucky based photographer who loves to capture babies, children, families, dogs, weddings and births.
She rocked it, with grace and kindness and love and lots of prayer. She had prayerfully chose to birth at home and ended up in the tub when she moved into transition, which helped with pain and relaxed her in between contractions. He arrived at 1:15pm and was just under 8 pounds. Many thanks to Jen and Tom for allowing me to capture the birth of their youngest. What a blessing he is!

in my mind a new website would really make me feel accomplished, but the reality is i feel like a floundering fish in a big sea. so much to accomplish in the time between the kiddos bedtime and 1 am. once i decided to go for my new look it was all i could think about. any extra moments were spent checking out tutorials and using the live chat with my new hosting company. i’m sure they know me well now. i am content with what i’ve come up with, until i see other photographer’s sites. there are so many awesome photographers out there and i’m competing with all of them. ok really not all of them but it feels that way. i’ve learned that if you don’t make friends with those other photographers you aren’t going to grow. helping each other and giving constructive criticism builds each other up. as a collective group we can band together to create a better industry. over the past week so much has changed, in my parenting, in my business, and in my daily life. i’m wanting to be a purposeful parent and purposeful in my quiet time with the Lord. all of these decisions had been floating around in my head for a while but it wasn’t until i was encouraged in nashville at theFix. i had the awesome opportunity to meet my favorite photographer, jasmine star. what an inspiration she is! not only is she a super talented photographer, but a christian and a leader in the photography industry. one of her best attributes is her way of encouragement. she really tries hard to remember your name amongst hundreds of people, my friend mandy experienced this first hand! it was an unforgettable experience and i’m looking forward to making changes and letting God change me more to be more like his Son. i see struggles in my future but that’s the only way to grow.
till next time-
lauren
